10 Years of London Eye Today!
The London Eye (known also as as the Millennium Wheel), at a height of 135 metres (443 ft), is the largest Ferris wheel in Europe, and has become the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom, visited by over three million people in one year!! Today, London Eye celebrates its 10th birthday! Although, Tony Blair officially opened the London Eye on 31 December 1999, the public was finally allowed aboard only in March 2000 after a number of technical glitches had been sorted out.
Therefore from 7pm onwards, all visitors to the Eye will enjoy an impressive light show and anyone who books a flight during that that time will also receive a free glass of Pommery Champagne to enjoy as they take in the lit up views of London’s evening skyline. How exciting! this is one of the perfect days out in London ideas:)
